The study aimed to investigate the effects of curriculum development and implementation on the entrepreneurial intention of students in the school of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State Nigeria. The study assessed the perception of the University management in designing quality academic programmes; determined the impacts of curriculum development on graduates improved productivity over a period of five years; evaluated the obstacles facing the development of quality academic curriculum in ensuring creativity and innovation; and assessed the roles of the academia in ensuring thorough delivery of curriculum development. The target population is the University Management, Academia and students in the eight departments in the School. The sample sizes of the respondents is four hundred and sixty five (465) determined with the use of Boyley’s formula. The sampling technique used was multi stage sampling: the cluster sampling technique, systematic sampling technique and judgmental sampling technique. The study made use of the secondary data, close-ended and open-ended questionnaires as well as in-depth interview as instruments used for data, focus group discussion and face to face interview for the data collection. Data obtained were inputted, analysed and presented using descriptive statistics such as charts, tables, frequencies and percentages using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Scientists) Version 21. Findings from the study shows that academia in the School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology opined that the curricula was perfect but the major factors affecting its function are inadequate funding and specialists to handle specialized areas of the curriculum and that few hands handled numerous activities. However, the study shows that the cadre of Assistant Lecturers to Lecturer I and also many Senior Lecturers have little knowledge about curriculum development. It was discovered that majority of the students were not given the courses of their choices which at first reduced their commitment towards the courses allocated to them. It was also realized that the courses given to them were not introduced to them until 300L. They termed the courses undergone in their 100L and 200L as perambulating courses. Their wishes are that; even if they are given courses outside their choices, they should be quickly introduced to the courses so that they can start generating concepts and ideas about the courses. Students who were admitted to their courses of choice also complained that their aspiration seemed to be cut short with the low practical aspects introduced to the courses since their wishes are to graduate and become employers of labour. It was recommended that curriculum designed should be towards solving problems that affect the society and courses should involve full practical aspects that can equip students to be self-independent. Teaching and Research should have entrepreneurship impact on learners that will give room for community development. All academia should participate and acquire knowledge about curriculum designing in their respective departments and schools.
