The study explored the commercial pig farmers’ adoption of biosecurity measures against the outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF) in Ogbomoso Agricultural Zone of Oyo State. A multistage sampling procedure was used in selecting fifty-two respondents for the study. Primary data were collected on respondents’ socio-economic characteristics, awareness of ASF, use of information sources, knowledge of ASF and adoption of biosecurity measures. The data were analyzed with frequency, percentage, mean and Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation. The results showed that 36.5% of the farmers were within the age of 34-44 years with the mean age of 37.54 years. The enterprise was dominated mostly (80.0%) by male farmers. Majority (76.9%) of the respondents was educated and the mean year of experience in commercial pig farming was 10.09. Farmers made use of multiple sources of information on ASF. Awareness and knowledge of ASF was high among the farmers. There existed significant positive correlation between awareness (r = 0.334, p = 0.016), knowledge (r = 0.650, p = 0.000) and adoption of biosecurity measures. The study concluded that awareness and knowledge of ASF enhanced the adoption of biosecurity measures against ASF. It was therefore recommended that knowledge generating and disseminating institutions should reach the commercial pig farmers with more information using different channels to enable them adopt biosecurity measures against ASF future outbreak in the study area.
